In France, we offer cross-disciplinary training in writing skills for all undergraduate students from all disciplines. The unique feature of this training is that it is asynchronous distance learning. The whole system is designed to build a community of language practitioners and improve academic writing skills. We propose to study the analysis of this system by shedding light on its structure, the style of communication developed during the courses, and a specific support format that involves the students in a shared reflection on the language and their own mastery of it.
