Abstract

This research project focuses on higher education teachers and the use they make of e-learning platforms. More specifically, the aim of this research is to examine whether the use of e-learning tools is influenced by the disciplines as well as the teaching and learning styles of the teacher. The results of a survey conducted among 192 teachers active in higher education point to a strong transmissive use of platforms and an interactive and incentive use of methods in the classroom. This research leads to further investigation of blended-learning practices that combine both e-learning and classroom activities.
