This exploratory research accounts for the training modalities of teachers’ trainers of the University of Teacher Education in Fribourg (Switzerland). Nine teacher’s trainers were interviewed about their training and self-directed learning on technology use and ICT integration. The results showed that, though the trainers acquired some technology competences, ICT are relatively weakly integrated in the teaching-learning system they developed to train the future teachers. Moreover, they developed more or less efficient and time consuming strategies of self-directed learning in technical aspects, while they almost never used similar strategies to develop pedagogical integration of ICT during their lessons. The paper finally summarizes and discusses all these elements and suggests some ways to manage formal and informal learning in teachers’ training.
