Have we reached a moment of rupture or reorientation of our researches, aims and processes in the field of the uses of ICT for higher education? Isn’t it time to move from research and development to descriptive researches and to link more studies in higher education with educational technology? Plea for more ambitious, interdisciplinary researches, undertaken in networks, describing and understanding actual practices and systems, this contribution offers the opportunity for debate on essential stakes for the future in the field of numeric higher education.
